Strategic Transformation & Execution for MAI Capital Management
Overview
MAI Capital Management sought to establish an enterprise strategy and execution model that could keep pace with rapid growth and an increasingly complex wealth management environment.
The Challenge
Rapid growth and acquisition activity had created siloed initiatives and limited coordination across the organization. MAI needed an overarching strategic framework to align priorities, establish ownership, and translate its vision into actionable plans.
The Solution & Benefits
Simatree worked with executive leadership to develop an enterprise strategic plan, aligning the organization around shared goals, initiatives, ownership, and measures of success. The team then established an Executive Project Management Office (EPMO) with the governance, processes, and tools needed to drive execution. The EPMO created greater transparency across strategic initiatives, strengthened coordination and change management, and provided a consistent structure for managing priorities and measuring progress.
Measuring Success
Within the first year, seven strategic projects were completed, with another 32 initiatives in progress under the new strategic execution model.
The Results
MAI gained an enterprise-wide framework for turning strategy into action, coordinating transformation initiatives, and supporting continued growth through stronger governance and execution.
